FRIGHT FLOW

What is the Fright Flow?

The Fright Flow is designed to support you when you find yourself frozen in place, hyper-aware of stress or threat but unsure how to respond. This state of heightened alertness, where your mind might go blank or your body feels unable to act, is incredibly common in Functional Freeze. It’s like the moment you get stuck during a presentation, or when a difficult conversation leaves you silent, even though you're aware of the tension. In these moments, your nervous system is in overdrive, trying to protect you by keeping you still, but it can leave you feeling disconnected, trapped, or overwhelmed.

Unlike the Freeze Flow, which helps with more acute situations—like a sudden phone call, a late bill, or an accident—the Fright Flow is designed for moments when you’re stuck in a prolonged state of hyperawareness. In these situations, you might be fully aware of the stress but unable to find a solution, leaving you feeling frozen and unable to act. This flow gently guides you out of that immobilized state, easing the tension and hyper-awareness in a way that feels supportive and natural.

Through slow, mindful movements and calming breathwork, this flow helps you re-engage your body’s natural rhythms and create a sense of safety. The goal isn’t to force you into action but to give your body and mind space to reset, gently moving you from that place of agitation or overwhelm into a state of balance and ease.
This flow is about creating a safe space for yourself, no matter where you are or what you're going through. It acknowledges the intensity of the fright state, but it also reminds you that this state is temporary and you have the power to shift out of it. Whether you’re at home, in the office, or even in a moment of stress, these tools are here to help you reconnect with your body, quiet your mind, and find your way back to calm.

With regular practice, the Fright Flow will become your go-to when you need to navigate these frozen moments. Over time, you'll notice that it's not about “fixing” yourself but about trusting your body to recover and reset naturally. Every time you engage with this flow, you’re building a stronger sense of safety and resilience—one breath, one movement at a time.

Remember, you're not alone in these experiences. This flow is designed to meet you where you are, offering gentle steps toward restoring balance, relaxation, and a sense of control. Allow yourself the space to move slowly, listen to your body, and let go of any pressure to be anywhere other than exactly where you are. You have everything you need to find peace within yourself, and this flow will help you access it whenever you need it.
